The short version
Cookies and similar technologies (local storage and session storage) are small pieces of data a website keeps in your browser. We use only the few that the website needs to work. We use no analytics, advertising, social-media or other tracking cookies, and no third-party scripts load on our pages, apart from the optional bot check on the order form described below.
Because everything we store is strictly necessary, it does not need your consent under the EU ePrivacy rules or UK PECR. We still show a notice so you know, and so that any optional analytics we might add later stays off unless you allow it.

- Holds your order request list (products, quantities, units and packaging) so it survives reloads and new tabs. It contains no personal details.

- Until you send the request (it is then cleared), remove the items, or clear your browser data.

- Everyone who answers the cookie notice
- Purpose
- Remembers your cookie choice and which version of this policy you saw, so we do not ask on every page.
- Kept for
- 12 months, or until this policy changes; then we ask again.

- Set for
- Anyone who sends an order request
- Purpose
- Holds the reference number, your email address and the product names of the request you just sent, to show them on the confirmation page.
- Kept for
- Deleted when you close the browser tab.
avh_adminStrictly necessary- Type
- Cookie (HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Strict)

- Our staff only, after signing in to the admin area
- Purpose
- Keeps a staff member signed in. It is never set for visitors browsing the catalogue.

- 8 hours, or until the staff member signs out.
Bot check on the order form
If it is switched on, the order details page loads Cloudflare Turnstile from challenges.cloudflare.com to check that a person, not a script, is sending the form. Cloudflare processes your IP address and browser signals to do this and may keep data inside its own frame; it is not used for advertising. We treat it as strictly necessary because it protects the form from spam. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for details.
Optional analytics
We do not use any analytics today. The cookie notice has an “Optional analytics” switch that is off by default. If we ever add analytics, it will run only for visitors who turn it on, we will list it on this page first, and we will ask everyone again.
Fonts and images
Our fonts (Cormorant Garamond and Hanken Grotesk, from Google Fonts under the SIL Open Font License) and all images are served from our own server. Your browser does not contact Google or any other third party to load them.
Changing your choice
You can change your choice at any time:
You can also delete or block storage in your browser settings. If you block local storage, the order request list is kept only until you leave the page.
